Tel#: (718) 982-2814 - Email: Erlan.Feria@csi.cuny.edu
Professor Feria received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering from the City College of New York (CCNY) of the City University of New York (CUNY). He also received the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Graduate School of CUNY, and did postdoctoral work in control sciences at CCNY. He has been with the CUNY College of Staten Island since 1982, becoming a Full Professor in 1996 in the Department of Engineering Science and Physics whose name was changed in 2018 to the Department of Engineering and Environmental Science. His research of more than four decades is of a multi-disciplinary nature in the sciences and aims to build an applied theory for the derivation of maximally efficient and affordable solutions to complex problems. Problems like: 1) the modeling of the neural control mechanisms of the human brain; 2) the design of high-performance radar solutions that do not require the prior-knowledge of the clutter; 3) dark-matter and dark-energy in astrophysics; and 4) lifespan in biophysics.
